Liberals Criticize the Costs of ICE Deportations

Dan Gooding, Associate News Editor for the liberal Newsweek, has written a misleading and hypocritical article regarding the cost of ICE deportation to the American taxpayers. This is another liberal effort to shame the Trump Administration and undermine immigration law enforcement.

Gooding cites the National Priorities Project at the Institute for Policy Studies, a liberal think tank, which estimated the Trump Administration will spend $268.9 billion on deportations. The liberals say that those funds could instead be spent on funding over 925,000 schoolteachers or pay for over five million veterans' medical care.

However, Gooding and liberals ignore how much illegal immigration has cost taxpayers. They also overlook that these deportation costs would not exist if liberals had not opened the border to millions of illegal immigrants during the Biden border crisis.

The cost of illegal aliens on Americans goes beyond just the cost of deporting them. Illegal aliens have caused crime, strained public resources, and even affected indirect costs to citizens like higher auto insurance rates to cover wrecks involving uninsured illegal alien drivers.

Illegal aliens have also been a "double-dipping" tax burden on US citizens. Not only are they receiving federal, state, and local benefits while they are in the U.S. illegally, but their home countries also receive taxpayer funded foreign aid.

However, Gooding and the liberals ignore those facts and costs.

This hypocrisy because Trump is cleaning after the mess they created with opening the border to millions of illegal aliens.

If anyone is to blame for the cost of the deportation of illegal aliens, it is the liberals who let them in.
