Dr. Willie Ng Talks About Hiring Nonpolice for Police Work in San Antonio

Dr. Willie Ng discusses a proposal by liberal San Antonio city councilwoman Sukh Kaur from District 1 to allow the city to hire retired law enforcement officers to handle minor traffic accidents and nonviolent incidents, freeing up full-time officers to address serious crime. This seems like a good idea, particularly since the SA Police Department is suffering a critical staff shortage. However, a closer examination shows this is another backdoor “defund the police” political move that will result in fewer trained police officers and more public safety issues.
