Fake News & Mayor Nirenburg

In an election year, the liberal San Antonio Express-News did a fluff piece about how liberal Mayor Nirenberg looks in a cowboy hat. The SAEN writer is giddy about Nirenberg’s looks.

Meanwhile, the city’s crime and violence continue to grow. Small businesses struggle and close because of city policies and regulations.

The local news media supports Nirenberg and will promote him. But, on the other hand, they will ignore or attack any person or issue that is a political threat to Nirenberg. That defines “Fake News.”

In an election year, the news media should report on Nirenberg honestly but critically. They should be watchdogs of the people, not the protectors of the mayor and city hall.

If the truth makes us free, Fake News will enslave us.
