How “Affordable Housing” Hurts Stable Neighborhoods

Liberals have weaponized Fair Housing laws to force integration and to push their Marxist agenda. Fair Housing laws were intended to fight racial discrimination but have been turned into taxpayer-funded “mixed-income” laws to further their class warfare agenda.
The fact is that lower-income people in America have different values and behaviors from those of middle-class people. Crime and anti-social behavior are more prevalent in lower income communities.
However, liberals and leftists believe that if low-class/income individuals are exposed to middle-class surroundings, their lives and income will improve, but that “theory” doesn’t work in practice. The truth is that apartment complexes lose middle-class residents because of lower-class behavior such as crime and property destruction. Eventually, the portery becomes a problem for the rest of the community.
The City of San Antonio is pushing this Marxist agenda under the guise of its taxpayer-funded “affordable housing program.” The issue of crime and anti-social behavior can be solved with proper screening of people, and the enforcement of rules and laws,
But liberals and leftists in the SA City government ignore the solution and pander to radical leftist groups. They use Fair Housing laws to force mixed-income development. Liberal and left-wing groups are quick to use Fair Housing laws against anyone who opposes mixed-income development.
Low-class behavior is not about racial discrimination but personal behavior. Personal behavior and choices can affect income. However, Marxists reject individual responsibility and want the government to make everyone equal.
Low-class behavior is a reality. It hurts property values because the recipients bring crime and anti-social behavior into the community.
Fair Housing laws were part of the 1960s War on Poverty, but in 2025, the Poverty Industry has turned it into “War on America’s Middle Class.” We should keep it out of our communities unless the people benefiting from our taxes are appropriately screened and supervised. There must be accountability.
