Illegal Alien Crimes & Liberal Silence and Excuses
On Wednesday, June 26, there was a fourth incident in ten days where an American female – or females – were killed by illegal aliens. What is surprising is the silence among liberals, especially liberal women’s groups, about this frightening trend that is associated with the Biden open, unsecured border.
Liberal groups justify Biden’s border policies as “humanitarian” but ignore the tsunami of criminal illegal aliens, terrorists, and illicit drugs coming into the country. The murders show the danger of allowing unvetted illegal aliens into our communities.
Specifically, the following murders were reported in the news between June 17 and June 27, 2024.
- Monday, June 17 – An illegal alien from El Salvador was arrested in Tulsa, OK, for the rape and murder of Rachel Morin in Harford County, MD, in August 2023. Victor Martinez-Hernandez, 23, was tracked down by police using DNA from the crime scene in Maryland. He had also assaulted a woman in Los Angeles and murdered another one in El Salvador.
- Tuesday, June 18 – Jhon Moises Chacaguasay-Ilbis, a 21-year-old illegal alien from Ecuador, was arrested by Syracuse, NY, police for allegedly suffocating a woman and burying her body in a city park.
- Thursday, June 20 – Two undocumented Venezuelan men have been charged with the capital murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston, TX. They might also be accused of rape.
- Thursday, June 27 – Irving, TX, police arrested Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta, 37, for the double homicide of two women inside a Chick-fil-A restaurant. The two female victims, 49-year-old Patricia Portillo and 31-year-old Brayan Alexis Godoy, were employees of the restaurant.
Besides these recent incidents, there have been several other high-profile murders of American women, such as Mollie Tibbetts in Iowa, Kate Steinle in San Francisco, Laken Riley in Georgia, and Catalina Valdez Andrade and Merced Andrade Ballon in Farmers Branch, Texas. There have also been other attacks on women and young girls in small communities that do not get national news attention.
A secured border and a stringent vetting process could have prevented these crimes. Immigrants and foreign aliens should not enter the U.S. without a proper background check and permission.
However, in many cases, it is impossible to do background checks because records of crimes and criminals do not exist in many countries. This lack of information makes it easy for illegal aliens to use fake names to enter the U.S. Also, there is a substantial number of illegal aliens crossing daily, many undetected, which makes identifying criminals more difficult.
It is the Biden Administration’s liberal and lax immigration policies and unsecured borders that are responsible for illegal alien criminals being in America. Under Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, aliens are allowed into the country first and then apply for permission to stay.
This backward and hurried processing makes it challenging to identify criminals and terrorists when they cross the border. They can melt into the communities until they commit a crime.
However, liberal political issues like the unsecured and open border are more important than women’s safety. For example, Harris County (Houston), TX, County Judge Lina Hidalgo, a liberal Democrat, said “evil happens regardless of immigration status” and urged fellow leaders not to politicize the 12-year-old’s alleged murder at the hands of two undocumented Venezuelan men. Secretary Mayorkas said illegal alien criminals should be blamed for the murder, not the Biden Administration.
The Brennan Center for Justice, a liberal think tank, released a report in May 2024 that concluded, “Data does not support claims that the United States is experiencing a surge in crime caused by immigrants.” Does this mean that illegal alien crime and violence are tolerable to liberals and Democrats?
Regardless of the liberal excuses, these murders were preventable because the illegal alien criminals should not be in the U.S. The countries of the world that have taken advantage of the lax Biden border policies and dumped their criminals and mentally ill citizens in the U.S.
The Border Patrol must be allowed to do their duty to secure the border and prevent the entry of illegal aliens and drugs. Federal immigration agents should be detaining and deporting those who are arrested. Unfortunately, there are many “sanctuary” cities and states that refuse to cooperate with immigration agents.
All immigrants and foreign visitors must be vetted before they enter the country, and all illegal aliens should be deported, regardless of their age, race, health, income, and family status. We cannot allow criminals, terrorists, and people with infectious diseases to enter the country freely.
But the liberal silence is on illegal alien crimes, and violence is deafening.
